Sacrificial animal market bustles as Eidul Azha approaches
As Eidul Azha approaches fast, the largest sacrificial cattle market of the megalopolis located on Northern Bypass is bustling with activity as more than 30,000 cows and bulls have been brought in by traders from across the country, mostly from Sindh, Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan.
According to a spokesperson, apart from a large number of cows, bulls, and goats, camels have also been brought to the market from the desert regions of Sindh. More than 100 camels from Nawabshah have been brought to the market. These camels, representing different breeds such as Lari, Sindhi, Thari, Sakra, Pahari, and Desi, await buyers, with traders quoting prices ranging from Rs0.2 million to Rs1.5 million.
Moreover, the goat enclosure, situated next to the camel block, has beautiful goats from regions within Sindh, including Mirpurkhas and Nawabshah. Goats weighing between one and a half to two maunds, brought from Mirpurkhas, are priced between Rs0.3 million to Rs0.4 million.
The cattle market attracts a large number of buyers and visitors who come to purchase or admire the sacrificial animals on sale. As the countdown to Eidul Adha starts, the cattle market will transform into a festive atmosphere. The construction of 'VVIP and VIP blocks' within the market is underway, where traders will showcase healthy, beautiful, and high-breed cows and bulls for sale.
