North West shines: Set for singing debut at Hollywood Bowl's ‘Lion King’ event
In an exciting turn of events for "The Lion King" fans, North West, the daughter of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, will make her singing debut at the Hollywood Bowl this Friday.
She will perform the classic hit "I Just Can’t Wait to Be King" during the first of the two-night concert event celebrating the beloved Disney franchise.
The event promises a star-studded lineup, featuring "Lion King" veterans such as Nathan Lane, Billy Eichner, Jeremy Irons, Ernie Sabella, and Heather Headley, alongside EGOT winner Jennifer Hudson.
The musical extravaganza will also include performances by Lebo M and Jason Weaver, ensuring an unforgettable experience for attendees.
Conductor Sarah Hicks will lead a full orchestra, breathing life into Hans Zimmer’s Oscar-winning musical score.
Audiences can expect to hear renditions of Elton John and Tim Rice's timeless classics, including "Can You Feel The Love Tonight," "Circle of Life," "Be Prepared," and "Hakuna Matata."
This special event will be recorded and later broadcasted as “The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl” on Disney+.
Billy Eichner, speaking to Variety after the first rehearsal, expressed his excitement about the event's grand scale.
“All of the producers have flown over from London,” he said. “We’re all finally in person together with the orchestra and the conductor and choreographer Jamal Sims and so many dancers — so many dancers! I feel like I’m on Madonna’s Blond Ambition tour.”

"The Lion King" franchise continues to captivate global audiences, with its history of a record-breaking stage musical, a 2019 live-action movie, and the upcoming prequel "Mufasa: The Lion King," directed by Barry Jenkins and set to hit theaters in December 2024.
In the prequel, audiences will see Blue Ivy Carter, daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, make her feature film debut as Kiara.
