Chaos at Cannes: Travis Scott gets into a fight with Tyga and Cher’s boyfriend
What started as a shoutout turned into a shout-down at Cannes, with Scott at the center of an explosive altercation.
The Cannes Film Festival witnessed not just cinematic showcases but also a dramatic brawl involving some of the biggest names in music.
The incident occurred at Richie Akiva’s renowned “The After” afterparty at Domaine La Dilecta, in the early hours of Friday.
The annual party, co-hosted this year by Badius, was a highlight event featuring DJ sets by Zack Bia, Ruckus with a special Diplo pop-up, Chase B, DJ Cruz, Ramsey, and Hale Zero.
As the night progressed, around 2 a.m., the AmfAR Gala headliner Cher, currently dating Alexander "AE" Edwards, delivered a performance that brought the house down, earning a standing ovation.
The event also showcased Kendall Jenner’s 818 Tequila and was presented by Mantra, powered by RepBets and Seventy One.
A source exclusively told Page Six, “Models were flying everywhere in the melee,” as the party turned chaotic.
The disturbance reportedly started around 5 a.m. near the DJ booth, where Travis Scott, Tyga, along with Alexander “AE” Edwards, were present.
The tension escalated when Akiva gave a shout out to Tyga and Edwards. Scott, apparently not pleased with the acknowledgement, grabbed the mic from Akiva, leading to Edwards intervening to keep the peace.
"Travis was the aggressor," revealed a source. However, additional witnesses at the party claimed that it was Edwards who initiated the physical confrontation, running up on stage and making contact with Scott first.
This sparked the ensuing chaos. The situation intensified when Scott, accompanied by producer Southside, confronted Edwards.
The confrontation spiraled into a physical altercation, with Edwards reportedly dragging Scott across the stage and ejecting him off it.
An eyewitness stated, “AE and Tyga’s assistant began to beat up Travis.”
Despite the chaos, Tyga seemed to remain distant from the direct confrontation, observed by a source as just "chill" at the side.
Security eventually intervened, breaking up the fight as the music stopped and calm was restored.
Remarkably, the party continued, winding down around 9 a.m.
Although no serious injuries were reported, the incident left partygoers in shock. Representatives for Scott, Edwards, and Tyga have yet to respond to requests for comment.
