In a twist worthy Hollywood plot, Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown and model Jake Bongiovi secretly tied the knot last weekend, PEOPLE revealed.

Jake’s parents, rock legend Jon Bon Jovi—whose band gave us classics like Livin’ On A Prayer—and Dorothea Bongiovi, joined Brown's parents at the intimate ceremony. "It was a very low-key, romantic affair with their closest family with them as they said their vows,” an insider told The Sun, adding that a larger celebration is planned for later this year.

The couple, who ignited romance rumours in June 2021 with a shared Instagram selfie, transitioned from friends to lovers, making their public debut holding hands in New York City and gracing red carpets like the 2022 BAFTA Film Awards and the season 4 premiere of Stranger Things. By 2023, Millie had dubbed Jake her “partner for life,” and he proposed four months later. Millie announced their engagement on Instagram with a heartfelt black-and-white photo.

Bon Jovi himself endorsed the union on Radio Andy, saying, "If you find the right partner and you grow together... My advice really is that growing together is wise. I think that all of my kids have found people that they think they can grow together with, and we like them all. Millie is wonderful,” the rock icon said, adding that his son is "very happy."

Wedding planning updates came from Millie, who shared her excitement with Women's Wear Daily, while also expressing a desire for privacy. “I think probably drawing the curtains, just because there are only so many moments in life that you get only once,” she told WWD. “And to have everyone’s opinions and eyes looking at that just feels unnatural to me.”

Stranger Things co-star Matthew Modine added another layer of charm, revealing to Access Online that he would officiate the ceremony. “I have one of those licenses to get people married and Millie thought it’d be great and then Jake said it would be a great idea, so I wrote the wedding vows and they loved what I wrote for them to join hands and to become husband and wife,” Modine explained.
