Suzuki eyes expansion with new biogas plant

Ayukawa highlighted Suzuki’s 40-year history of vehicle manufacturing in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD:

A Japanese delegation led by Kenichi Ayukawa, Global Vice President of Suzuki Motor Corporation, met with Federal Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain on Thursday in Islamabad, according to a press statement.

Welcoming the delegation, Hussain highlighted the auto industry’s importance to Pakistan’s economy, highlighting its contributions to employment, economic growth, technology transfer, and industrial development.

Ayukawa highlighted Suzuki’s 40-year history of vehicle manufacturing in Pakistan and recent exports of the Suzuki Swift and GS-150 motorcycle, marking Pakistan’s entry into the global automobile market.

The global VP also expressed Suzuki’s interest in establishing a biogas plant in Karachi, using food waste and animal manure to produce renewable energy.

Hussain assured the delegation of government support and facilitation for Suzuki Motor Corporation’s business operations and expansion in Pakistan.
