Cassie Ventura breaks silence after shocking Sean 'Diddy' Combs assault video resurfaced

Ventura speaks out for the first time since the release of a 2016 video showing abuse by ex ‘Diddy’.

Cassie Ventura has spoken out for the first time since a graphic video surfaced showing her then-boyfriend, rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs, physically assaulting her in 2016 in a Los Angeles hotel.

“The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe now, but this is only the beginning,” she wrote on Instagram on Thursday.

“Domestic Violence is THE issue,” Ventura continued. “It broke me down to someone I never thought I would become. With a lot of hard work, I am better today, but I will always be recovering from my past.”

Cassie thanked those who have taken the matter seriously, urging everyone to believe victims the first time they speak out.

Ventura also offered support to those in similar situations, encouraging them to reach out and not carry the burden alone.

Sean “Diddy” Combs apologized days after the video was obtained by CNN, in which he was seen grabbing, shoving, dragging, and kicking Ventura.

“My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions,” Combs said on Instagram, adding that he sought professional help and is committed to being a better man.

A lawyer for Ventura responded, stating that Combs' apology was more about himself than those he hurt, highlighting that he only apologized after being proven wrong.

The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office found the footage "extremely disturbing" but could not prosecute due to the statute of limitations.
