Romy Mars is the eldest daughter of Sofia Coppola, the acclaimed film director known for movies such as "Priscilla," "Somewhere," "The Godfather Part III," and others.

Inspired by her father, Thomas Mars, frontman of the French indie pop band Phoenix, Romy made her music debut on Wednesday, May 22.

Her EP includes two tracks, "Stuck Up" and "From a Distance," both showcasing Romy's deadpan, confessional vocals over minimal instrumentation, with shuffling percussion and lively acoustic guitar strums.

During her upbringing, she appeared to prefer staying out of the public eye. However, she gained internet fame in 2023 after her TikTok video went viral.

In the video, Romy cooked pasta with vodka sauce while sharing a story about being grounded for attempting to book a helicopter from New York to Maryland with her father's credit card to visit her friend.

Her mother promoted her music on her Instagram as she wrote in the caption: "So proud of Romy’s first 2 songs out today! Thank you to Claud for producing @claud.mp3."
