Six dead, seven injured as jeep falls into ditch
A jeep accident in the Liran village of Abbottabad resulted in six deaths and seven injuries. The victims were traveling from Kaliyan Bazaar, Azad Kashmir after buying some goods when their vehicle fell into a deep ditch.
According to details, the jeep was carrying individuals from Liran and Beri Bagla villages of Union Council Nambal in Abbotabad when the vehicle went out of control and slid into a ditch. The deceased included Muhammad Ashraf’s wife, two daughters-in-law, and a minor child, as well as Muhammad Aslam and Umar Khattab. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals, including the Abbas Institute of Medical Sciences in Muzaffarabad, where they are receiving treatment.
Pakistan Peoples Party leaders and local council members arrived at the hospital and are cooperating with the administration to provide aid to the victims. The driver of the jeep was from the village of Karli.
Local residents provided assistance at the scene of the accident. A police team led by Bakot police station SHO Zubair Tanoli also reached the site but the area residents had lifted the bodies and the injured on their own. Chairman Village Council Abdul Jabbar Abbasi Advocate and local Chairman Khattab Abbasi have also reached the village and the scene of the accident and are participating in the relief efforts.
