NYC Council members push mayor to revoke Diddy's city key

The video of Diddy assaulting Cassie is prompting NYC politicians to seek immediate repercussions.

A video of Diddy assaulting Cassie in a hotel has sparked public outrage and led high-ranking NYC politicians to demand an immediate consequence, TMZ reports.

Several NYC council members are urging Mayor Eric Adams to revoke Diddy's symbolic key to the city.

Council Member Sandy Nurse told TMZ, "Mayor Adams should immediately revoke Diddy’s key to the city. As an abuser, Diddy lost his right to such an honor."

Council Member Shaun Abreu added, "Mayor Adams should snatch back Diddy's key and slam the door behind him."

Council Member Joe Borelli noted that NYC previously removed Thomas Jefferson's statue for historical crimes, suggesting that revoking Diddy's honor is appropriate.

Mayor Adams, who awarded the key to Diddy last September, confirmed that his office is reviewing the process to rescind the honor and expressed support for Cassie.

The video, which surfaced on CNN, shows Diddy beating Cassie in 2016.

Diddy has apologized, calling it a dark period in his life.

This incident follows federal raids on his homes related to sex trafficking allegations, which he denies.

The investigation is ongoing, with federal prosecutors interviewing several people mentioned in the lawsuits against Diddy.
