Country star Lainey Wilson has been extended an invitation to join the esteemed ranks of the Grand Ole Opry, with the announcement coming as a surprise during the season finale of "The Voice" on Tuesday evening. Reba McEntire, a judge on the show, delivered the invitation to Wilson while she was performing her latest single "Hang Tight Honey."

In a heartfelt moment, McEntire expressed her pride in Wilson's accomplishments, stating, "I am thrilled to death if I had anything to do with your career, 'cause you're blowing it up." 

She went on to highlight Wilson's recent accolades at the ACM Awards and expressed her desire to bridge the generational gap by inviting her to join the Grand Ole Opry.

The invitation marks a significant milestone in Wilson's career, as she reflects on her childhood dream of performing at the Opry. "It's crazy that you're asking me to be a member," Wilson expressed, addressing McEntire directly. "I look up to you so much... you inspire me every day."

Wilson later shared her excitement on social media, expressing gratitude for the opportunity and acknowledging the fulfillment of a lifelong aspiration.

Prior to receiving the Opry invitation, Wilson had already been experiencing a whirlwind of success, including being named the ACM Awards' Entertainer of the Year and celebrating her 32nd birthday. She also shared her journey to "The Voice," recalling her determination after facing rejection in previous auditions.

The induction ceremony for Lainey Wilson into the Grand Ole Opry is scheduled for June 7th, marking another milestone in her rapidly ascending career in country music.
