‘The Bear’ actor Ayo Edebiri talks dynamic with Jeremy Allen White amid dating rumours
‘The Bear’ actor Ayo Edebiri has opened up about her friendship with co-star Jeremy Allen White.
Edebiri and White play chefs Sydney and Carmy respectively on the FX hit show, which is serving up a third season on June 27.
Speaking to Vanity Fair, the actor revealed, “Work can be a very intimate thing and a very personal thing and a very emotional thing.
“I think when you’re also in industries that are creative or creative adjacent, I think there’s something that also invokes feelings of passion.”
She also added, “Boy’s got some beautiful blue eyes. You know what I mean? Those are eyes you want to project onto,” fuelling dating rumours online.
Vanity Fair also reports that White readily agreed to discuss their bond, a rarity for the actor.
White said he had “a tremendous amount of respect for [Edebiri] as a person, but also as an artist.”
The actor also commented on Edebiri’s character Sydney's ability to challenge Carmy. “Syd is always able to… I don’t know, to deliver something different to Carmy, and she’s usually right,” White said. “And I guess I think Ayo is also usually right.”
‘The Bear’ has received critical acclaim since its debut, with Edebiri and White earning Emmys, Golden Globes, and SAG Awards for their performances in Season One.
Edebiri also addressed recent headlines about her ‘Saturday Night Live’ hosting gig alongside Jennifer Lopez with Vanity Fair. She squashed rumors of tension, calling the idea of a feud “absurd.”
“That would be like Mr. Bean and Mick Jagger beefing,” she joked, poking fun at herself, “I’m obviously Mr. Bean. She’s J.Lo!”
Edebiri assured readers that Lopez was gracious about a past resurfaced comment, and the two share no animosity.
