Taylor Swift has fans hyped after releasing a remix in collaboration with DJ BLOND:ISH.
On Tuesday May 22, Taylor Swift and DJ BLOND:ISH unveiled an energized version of "Fortnight," which features Post Malone.
The track, which entered the Billboard Hot 100 at number one, was among the songs from The Tortured Poets Department that dominated the top 14 spots on the chart last month, surpassing Swift's previous Hot 100 record set with Midnights in 2022.
BLOND:ISH teased the collaboration on Instagram Stories four hours before its release, hinting, "Going to surprise you tonight."
Following the release of the track at 9 p.m. E.T., the DJ posted a video of herself raising a toast with others during a video call, jokingly saying, “We’ve been Swifties for a fortnight now.”
The original version of the track was featured in the debut video for TTPD and was released on the same day as the album.
The dystopian video garnered praise for its vivid portrayal, starring actor Ethan Hawke as a scientist in glasses, alongside Swift and Malone as star-crossed lovers.
“I’ve been such a huge fan of Post because of the writer he is, his musical experimentation and those melodies he creates that just stick in your head forever,” Swift shared on Instagram one day prior to the release.
“I got to witness that magic come to life firsthand when we worked together on ‘Fortnight.
Upon its launch, The Tortured Poets Department sold over 2.6 million units, making it the second-largest debut, surpassed only by Adele's 25, which accumulated over 3 million album equivalent units in 2015.
