Jennifer Lopez and Jennifer Garner fear Ben Affleck is on the brink of breaking sobriety
Jennifer Lopez is turning to Ben Affleck's ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, for support in her efforts to salvage her marriage, fearing Affleck's sobriety may be at risk, insiders reveal.
Garner, 52, was photographed arriving at Affleck's Brentwood residence amid reports of marital instability. Affleck, 51, occasionally spotted without his wedding ring, and Lopez, 54, walking the red carpet alone, have fueled speculation about their relationship.
Despite recent public appearances together, insiders claim Lopez sought Garner's counsel due to their shared experiences.
“JLo has been confiding in Jen because she knows that she is one of the only people in the world who would understand what she is going through,” the source told the Daily Mail.
“Jen does not want Ben to pull the plug on this marriage because she really does care about JLo,” the insider said. “She did go to his house to talk to him about this and to try and keep the two of them together.
“The biggest fear right now is that he will start drinking again and part of the reason Jen has been keeping tabs on him is to make sure this doesn't happen.”
Garner values Lopez's stabilizing influence on Affleck and hopes to save their marriage. Affleck's past struggles with alcoholism, which led to a rehab stint in 2018, raise concerns among close associates.
Affleck's acknowledgment of his drinking issues during his marriage to Garner underscores ongoing fears.
Both Affleck and Lopez are reportedly striving to navigate their marital challenges, with Garner providing support.
The couple's public rekindling of their relationship in 2021 culminated in marriage in 2022, but recent reports of living separately and Affleck's absence of a wedding ring have fueled doubts.
Lopez's solo house hunting and Affleck's lack of a wedding ring during recent outings contribute to speculation about their relationship status.
Despite their tumultuous history, Affleck and Lopez are attempting to work through their issues, with Garner advocating for their reconciliation.
