In a recent social media blunder, DJ Akademiks, known for his controversial takes and feuds, aimed to stir up a reaction by highlighting Kendrick Lamar's choice of footwear.
Posting on his secondary account, DJ Akademiks TV, he captioned a series of photos showcasing Lamar's shoes with: "Fans are speechless after learning Kendrick Lamar wears high heels."
The images, which were intended to show Lamar wearing lifts rather than actual high heels, sparked a different kind of conversation.

Contrary to Akademiks' expectations, the comment section erupted not with shock or amusement towards Lamar, but rather with criticism directed back at Akademiks himself. Fans were quick to point out the inaccuracy of the post and questioned the motive behind it. The rapper, standing at 5'5", as referenced in Drake's "Push Ups," may use lifts, but the portrayal as high heels was misleading and viewed as a weak attempt at slander.
Commenters dredged up recent serious accusations against DJ Akademiks, including charges of sexual assault and defamation, as outlined in a lawsuit filed by Fauziya Abashe. "LOL, we still haven’t forgotten about your lawsuit," commented one Instagram user. Another user cleverly used Kendrick Lamar's lyrics against Akademiks, saying, "Ak gotta weird case. Why is he around?"
Critics suggest that Akademiks might do better to focus on his platform rather than engaging in petty feuds, as comments like "Just stop AK, Please, man reaching for any type of Kendrick slander he can grasp on to."
