Election tribunal seeks Form 45 details

ISLAMABAD:

The Election Tribunal, headed by Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri, has directed the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), successful candidates, and returning officers to furnish details of Form 45, witness lists, and affidavits regarding alleged rigging in three Islamabad constituencies.

Justice Jahangiri emphasized that if the returning officers fail to appear in court either personally or through legal representation, arrest warrants will be issued.

He underscored the solemnity of statements made under oath, affirming that such statements would be sworn on the Quran.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the parties' failure to submit responses, Justice Jahangiri hinted at the possibility of subjecting Form 45 to forensic examination, either domestically or internationally.
