Zayn Malik achieved a significant milestone in his solo career by performing his first headlining concert since leaving One Direction in 2015. The sold-out show took place at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire on May 17th, where he showcased songs from his new album, "Room Under the Stairs."

Overcoming his past struggles with anxiety, Malik expressed his gratitude to the enthusiastic crowd, acknowledging their patience and unwavering support throughout the years. In a heartfelt moment, he shared his excitement about returning to the stage and feeling the energy of live performance once again.

Since embarking on his solo journey, Malik has achieved chart success with hits like "PILLOWTALK" and "Dusk Till Dawn," but had previously avoided live performances due to anxiety. However, he had occasionally participated in smaller performances, including a set at Wango Tango in 2016 and a recent rendition of his new track, "What I Am."

Malik's battle with anxiety had previously led him to cancel several scheduled performances, including a Summertime Ball appearance in 2016. In his autobiography, "Zayn," he described the debilitating impact of anxiety on his ability to function, particularly as a solo artist.

More recently, on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast, Malik revealed that he was still nervous about performing live, but felt the support of his dedicated fan base. He expressed his desire to prove them right and deliver a memorable performance.

With the release of "Room Under the Stairs" and his successful London concert, Malik has demonstrated his resilience and commitment to his music career. His triumphant return to the stage marks a new chapter in his journey as a solo artist.
