Johnny Knoxville hit with $3M negligence and battery lawsuit

'Jackass' star is being sued by former ‘The Prank Panel’ producer Daniel Curry.

Johnny Knoxville, along with  ABC Signature Studios, ITV America, Jimmy Kimmel’s Kimmelot, and others associated with the unscripted comedy series Prank Panel are facing a $3 million lawsuit for negligence and battery.

The ‘Jackass’ star is being sued for negligence and battery by Daniel Curry, a former employee of the ABC series 'The Prank Panel' and writing partner of Eric André, due to a 2022 taser incident.

Knoxville co-hosted the series with André and Gabourey Sidibe.

According to a complaint filed Thursday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, and reported by Entertainment Weekly, Curry, who was a segment producer on 'The Prank Panel,' alleges that Knoxville "chased down and tased" him "without provocation."

"This attack was unprompted, surprising, and inherently dangerous," the complaint says. "There was no plan for [Curry] to appear on camera and at no time was [he] an active participant in any scenes. Rather, [Curry] was an unsuspecting member of production who fell victim to Johnny Knoxville's inexplicable and inherently dangerous behavior."

Curry's lawsuit states that he was on crutches and a scooter for two and a half months, wore an ankle brace for another two and a half months and then underwent six months of physical therapy.

According to the lawsuit, Curry experienced "freezing, losing all motor skills, and collapsing with his entire body in a rigid and tense state," and he broke his fibula and tore a ligament in his ankle.

Following the tasing incident, the complaint alleges that the defendants, which include ABC Signature and Jimmy Kimmel's production company, Kimmelot, collectively engaged in actions to effectively exclude Curry from future involvement in the production, causing harm to his career.

The complaint further alleges that at least 25 individuals witnessed the incident.

Representatives for Knoxville, ABC, and Kimmelot did not immediately respond to Entertainment Weekly's request for comment Friday.
