Full House cast reunites for Bob Saget for a tribute on his birthday

The cast of Full House, including Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, came together on Friday, May 17th to remember Bob Saget on what would have been his 68th birthday. John Stamos, who played Uncle Jesse on the show, shared a black-and-white photo on Instagram of the cast gathered at Saget's funeral, including Dave Coulier, Scott Weinger, Jodie Sweetin, and Candace Cameron Bure. The Olsen twins, who rarely make public appearances, were also present.

Stamos captioned the photo with a heartfelt tribute to his late co-star and friend, writing, "Though Bob wasn't there physically, his spirit was unmistakably present, wrapping usin warmth and shared memories that drew both laughter and tears." He went on to describe Saget as the "heart" of the Full House family, whose legacy of kindness and compassion was evident in the faces of those around him.

The photo was taken at Stamos' home, next to a large Dumbo statue. Stamos had previously shared a photo with the same statue in April 2021. He explained that on the day of Saget's funeral, each of them felt the weight of his absence but also the strength of the bond he had nurtured among them.
 

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, now 37, famously shared the role of Michelle Tanner on Full House from 1987 to 1995. While they did not reprise their roles for the spin-off Fuller House, their presence at the tribute speaks to the lasting impact Saget had on everyone involved in the show.

Saget tragically passed away on January 9, 2022, at the age of 65 after suffering blunt head trauma from a fall in a Florida hotel. His death brought the Full House cast back together, including the Olsen twins, who had previously been estranged from the group.

In a May 2023 podcast episode, Stamos admitted that he was initially "angry" at the Olsen twins for not returning for Fuller House. However, he acknowledged Saget's role in keeping the cast connected and credited Saget's death for bringing everyone back together.

The Full House cast's tribute to Bob Saget on his birthday is a testament to the enduring love and respect they have for him. Saget's legacy of kindness and laughter will continue to live on through his work and the memories he created with his friends and colleagues.
