Vawda challenges SC judge to prove ‘proxy’ remarks
Senator Faisal Vawda said on Friday that he was dubbed ‘proxy’ by the Supreme Court judge and now he would have to prove the charge.
Speaking to a private channel, Vawda said, “I thank Almighty Allah that I would appear before the honest chief justice and his respected bench,” adding he will present his standpoint in the Supreme Court. He praised the court for giving him a chance to present his stance.
He said he always respected the chief justice and went against the cabinet when a malicious campaign was launched against him.
Referring to his recent press conference, he said he did not mention anyone by name but made general remarks.
In response to a question, Vawda asserted that he did not say anything controversial and emphasized that he was an aggrieved party.
He claimed that the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had punished him twice for a crime he did not commit.
Vawda also mentioned that Supreme Court Judge Athar Minallah labeled him a ‘proxy’ and insisted that the judge now has to prove this allegation. He declared that he is ready to die but will not retreat.
