'TTP commander' caught with grenade in lunchbox

A team of The Counter Terrorism Department CTD of Sindh police and intelligence agency in an operation near the Naurus Chowrangi on Manghopir Road arrested a commander of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.

Yousuf Khan alias Gul Yousuf was carrying a US-made hand grenade in a lunchbox at the time of his arrest, said a spokesperson for the CTD.

Per the spokesperson, Yousuf belongs to TTP faction of Commander Azmatullah.

Yousuf joined TTP in 2006. In 2009, Yousuf and his comrades under the leadership TTP Commander Noor Wali attacked the Frontier Corps (FC) in Sila Sui Qila area of South Waziristan. In another incident, he had detonated a remote control bomb targetting FC vehicle in Sarokai Paisa South Waziristan in which six personnel of the force were injured. A case of terrorism has been registered against the accused in CTD Karachi Police Station and further investigation is underway.

Woman held for drug trafficking

Special Investigation Unit (SIU) police arrested a female member of a drug dealer gang and recovered ice from her possession while conducting an operation near Fatima Bai Hospital, Jamshed Road, Patel Para.

SIU acted on a tip-off and arrested a female drug dealer, Asia, from whose possession 210 grams of ice was recovered.

She revealed in preliminary investigation that notorious drug dealers, Salma, Aman and their son-in-law, Inayat, give her drugs at various places in Karachi which she along with other gang members sell in the city. Investigation has been started by registering a case against Asia in SIU under Anti-Drug Act.
