101 candidates qualify Sindh competitive exam

As many as 101 candidates have qualified the Combined Competitive Examination, 2020, conducted by the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC), according to the results announced on Friday.
The successful candidates have qualified for appointment against vacant posts in various groups. Among them, 69 candidates have been assigned BPS-17 posts, while 32 candidates have got BPS-16 posts. Ten positions - four in BPS-17 and six in BPS-16 - remain vacant.
Initially shortlisting 182 candidates based on their performance in the written exam, the SPSC conducted interviews and selected 101 candidates for 69 BPS-17 posts across seven government departments and 32 BPS-16 posts across four departments.
The SPSC has successfully filled 35 out of 36 Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) positions, 14 out of 15 Provincial Management Service (PMS) posts, five out of six DSP Prisons roles, and seven out of eight Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies positions, all at the BPS-17 pay scale. Moreover, four Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO) positions, three Assistant Director Labour roles, and one Assistant Director Anti-Narcotics position, also at BPS-17, have been allocated.
Several female candidates have also secured positions in management and police services. Asma Saeed, Iram Shaikh, Tahra Noreen, Mehreen Raza, Uzma, and Fatima Khurshid have been appointed as DSPs, while Zopash Agha, Saima Noor, Mahwish Ashraf, Faiza Ali Nawaz, and Shaher Bano Syed are among those selected for the PMS.
The Combined Competitive Examination, 2020, was advertised on July 30, 2019, attracting over 15,000 applicants. Only 182 candidates were shortlisted for the interview phase, which concluded on March 26.
