A calligraphy exhibition displayed more than 100 paintings and calligraphy artworks by female young painters at the Punjab Council of the Arts Rawalpindi.
The exhibition, in particular showcased calligraphic art pieces created with the combination of both traditional and modern techniques. The paintings incorporated symbolism into the vintage, abstract and miniature art styles to create inspirational works of art. In addition to the prominent theme of Sufism, several paintings also depicted themes of the inner conflict of humans, loneliness, happiness as well as gender discrimination.
The exhibition was inaugurated by the Director Information, Muhammad Awais and Director Punjab Council of Arts Rawalpindi, Sajjad Ahmed.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Muhammad Awais said, “The young artists have shown their talent to the fullest and I can see that there are many future breakthrough artists among them.” He said that the skilful use of ancient, contemporary and modern trends of art is clearly evident in these artworks.
Sajjad Ahmed also appreciated the young artists, saying that they have shown exceptional talent. He declared that the platform of the arts council was always there to serve as a second home for all artists.
At the end of the inauguration ceremony, certificates of appreciation were distributed to all the artists.
