21 Savage shares origin story of his signature facial scar
In a recent Instagram live session on Tuesday, rapper 21 Savage opened up about the origin of the noticeable scar on the side of his face, a detail that fans have often speculated about.
The Atlanta-based artist recounted a childhood incident that led to the distinctive mark.
"When I was young, I had got into a fight, and I had gold teeth. N***a hit me in my shit right here," 21 Savage explained, gesturing to his scar. "And my goddamn lip got caught on my teeth. I had a hole right here."
The incident occurred when he was just 14, involving a confrontation with an older and larger opponent.
"That's why I got this scar. That n***a was way bigger than me," he added, sharing the painful memory with his followers.
During the same livestream, 21 Savage also addressed the ongoing tensions between his close friends, producers Metro Boomin and rapper Drake.
The dispute among the artists has captured the attention of the music industry, particularly after Metro Boomin's release of the album 'We Don't Trust You' with Future.
The album features tracks with apparent jabs at Drake, along with a collaboration with Kendrick Lamar that has only intensified the discord.
Despite the brewing controversy, 21 Savage expressed confidence that the two will reconcile. "Don't keep coming on to my muthafucking Live talking about no muthafucking beef," he stated firmly. "Metro my brother and Drake my brother. Those n***as going to figure that shit out eventually."
