Ed Sheeran sings in Punjabi, talks meeting Shah Rukh Khan on Kapil Sharma's show
The Great Indian Kapil Show will have Grammy award winner, Ed Sheeran as its next guest. On Wednesday, Netflix shared a new teaser from the upcoming episode which showed host Kapil Sharma having a blast with the Bad Habits singer.
The teaser for the episode revealed Ed embracing Indian culture while singing a Punjabi jingle about desi food. It also featured clips of him talking about his meeting with Shah Rukh Khan at the actor’s house. The singer then proceeded to deliver an iconic dialogue from Khan's Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, and managed to impress everyone with his Hindi.
The Shape of You singer arrived in black attire, as seen in the teaser which promised an episode full of comedy as Kapil joked, "You are younger than me in age, but I am younger than you in English,” a line that left the audience in fits of laughter.
Ed was recently in Mumbai for the Indian leg of his tour. It was during this visit that the Photograph singer visited Khan’s house. Gauri Khan had also posted pictures with Ed after she hosted him at Mannat and wrote, "What a pleasure listening to you sing! Thank you for spending the evening with us...”
This was not the only Indian celebrity Ed encountered during his visit. At his Mumbai concert, the Perfect singer invited Diljit Dosanjh to join him on stage, which is where Ed sang in Punjabi for the first time as the pair crooned Diljit's popular track, Lover.
