During a recent media interaction at a local varsity event, Yumna Zaidi confidently stated that Tere Bin’s popularity and viewership speaks for itself. “I feel that Tere Bin is the most watched drama of the Pakistan entertainment industry, so I do not need to defend it or my character,” Yumna revealed.
She continued, “If the drama had a name and people were not watching it, then I would come up and promote it. So, the answer is based on the viewership and viewers.” As the Parizaad actor’s statement went viral in a clip, fans flooded the comments section admiring her take.
One user commented, “Yumna rocked, boy shocked,” while another wrote, "Meerab,” with a series of heart emojis.
Tere Bin, now returning for a second season, also transcended geographical borders and was deemed the most watched Pakistani drama in India as well. Its popularity stemmed from audiences left captivated by the story of Meerab, an ambitious woman, whose life is transformed after marrying the dominating Murtasim, played by Wahaj Ali.
The onscreen chemistry between the two leads contributed immensely to the popularity of the drama. The love story, which often went viral, sometimes for the wrong reasons, was so well received that rumours began circulating an Indian remake was in the works.
Asad Qureshi and Abdullah Kadwani, the driving forces behind the hit, clarified through a shared statement, that no permission had been sought from the producers or the channel regarding a remake.
The statement read, "Recent reports of a potential remake of Tere Bin in India under the same title and storyline, though unconfirmed officially, have come to our attention. We wish to clarify that no consent or permission has been sought from the producers or the channel regarding this matter."
The demand for a second season as well as an Indian parallel demonstrates the success of the drama, justifying Yumna’s decision to not personally promote it. She is, however, currently promoting her new project, Gentleman, in which she plays a journalist. Amidst the buzz of the new drama, the actor shared a scary behind-the-scenes video from set in which she is seen falling down the stairs in the studio.
Since then, Yumna confirmed that she was unhurt, but the video has been making its rounds on social media, with thousands of fans sharing their concern for the actor.
