Actor Joshua Jackson revealed the reason behind his upcoming role in the new Karate Kid movie.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 45-year-old Dawson's Creek alum shared that his daughter, Juno Rose Diana Jackson, was a major influence in his decision.

“It'll be the first thing in a very long time that I can potentially watch with my daughter,” Jackson said.

Jackson, who shares his 4-year-old daughter with ex-wife Jodie Turner-Smith, will join a star-studded cast including Sadie Stanley, Ming-Na Wen, and Aramis Knight. The 2025 film will also see the return of franchise veterans Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio.

This marks Jackson's first feature film role in nearly a decade. While he has previously spoken about the joys of fatherhood, Jackson rarely discusses his daughter publicly.

In a 2022 interview with People, he described the challenges and rewards of raising his daughter, highlighting her strong personality and love of conversation.

Jackson is currently dating actress Lupita Nyong'o, and recently made headlines for spoiling her with a luxurious birthday celebration in Mexico. The couple's romance was confirmed in December 2023.

Jackson and Turner-Smith split in October 2023, citing irreconcilable differences. They reportedly share joint legal and physical custody of their daughter.
