Faulty inquiry: Sabzi Mandi SHO, subordinate suspended
The case of oil tanker theft was later resolved by CIA.

The Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) on Tuesday suspended the SHO Sabzi Mandi Police Station Abdul Majeed and one of his subordinates, Haider Ali, for failing to complete an inquiry into the theft of an oil tanker.
Superintendent of Police (Saddar) Sajid Kiani was asked to hold an inquiry into the SHO and the inquiry officer’s failure to resolve the case.
However, the stolen oil tanker was recovered and suspects were arrested by the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) who had taken up the case after the Sabzi Mandi police failed to resolve it.
The CIA police busted the gang of robbers who had snatched the oil tanker at gunpoint on IJP Road a few days ago. They five members of the gang were arrested and over a million rupees were recovered from them.
The suspects told the police that they had sold the oil for Rs1 million and later abandoned the tanker near Attock at Haji Shah Mor area. Police had found the vehicle as well.
Mohammad Khan, the owner of the oil tanker, had lodged a complaint with the Sabzi Mandi police that his vehicle had been snatched after the driver and the conductor were forced out of it by the armed men.
The five arrested suspects were identified as Asif Iqbal, Sajid Mahmood, Shahzad, Aamir Saeed and Matloob Hussain. All are residents of Rawalpindi except Hussain who is from Attock.
