John Legend has revealed that he will not be returning for the upcoming season of NBC's 'The Voice.'

In a recent discussion with ET's Cassie DiLaura, the 45-year-old singer and father of four shared his plans to focus on his family and other commitments, including overseas shows.

"I'll be doing a lot of shows this summer and traveling overseas this summer," Legend remarked, humorously adding, "I'll be back... If only I were actually going to take a break!"

This season will also see the absence of other familiar faces such as Chance the Rapper and Dan + Shay, paving the way for some notable additions to the coaching lineup.

Music legends Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé are set to join, alongside returning coach Gwen Stefani and the newcomer to the coach’s chair, Reba McEntire.

"It's exciting to incorporate some new people into The Voice family. Having Snoop here, he's been here as a mentor before, but having him as a coach, I think is going to be a lot of fun and reinvigorate the show a bit," Legend explained.

He emphasized the importance of refreshing the panel to maintain the show's appeal: "We've been around for 25 seasons and part of how we continue to stay fresh is introducing new coaches to The Voice family, and I think Michael and Snoop will do really well. And I'm excited that Gwen and Reba will be back too because they're both wonderful coaches."

While Legend looks forward to his return, former coach Blake Shelton, who left after Season 23, shared his sentiments about his departure earlier this year.

"I totally needed a break from that, because if I wasn't into it then it wasn't good for whoever was on my team," Shelton stated, expressing his need for a change after years of commitment. "I don't want to be someone who's just going through the motions.

Those artists need somebody fighting for them. The second I started feeling like, 'Oh my gosh, I don't even remember what season this is anymore. Who are the coaches on this season?' [I knew that] I needed [to get] away from here."

The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC.
