Govt school students perform below par

In class IV, students scored 38 percent in Mathematics, 44 percent in English and 55 percent in Urdu

PESHAWAR:

Despite tall claims of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government for heavily investing in the education sector, the performance of students at government schools in the subjects of math, English and Urdu is below par.

According to Khyber PaKhtunkhwa National Achievement Test (NAT) results, as many as 6,000 students of class IV and VIII from 312 government educational institutions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including the merged districts, participated in the National Achievement Test 2023.

In the test, English, Urdu and Mathematics were reviewed for class IV students, while Mathematics and Science were reviewed for class VIII students.

In class IV, students scored 38 percent in Mathematics, 44 percent in English and 55 percent in Urdu, while in class VIII, students scored 43 percent in Science and 35 percent in Mathematics.
