Vivienne Jolie-Pitt supports mom Angelina Jolie on The Today Show
Actress Angelina Jolie, 48, had a special supporter in the audience of The Today Show when she discussed her new musical, The Outsiders.
Jolie appeared on the show on Monday, chatting about the production with co-host Hoda Kotb.
“You mentioned your daughter Vivienne. She’s here today too. She’s working along with the cast but she turned you onto this. Tell us, how this came to be," Kotb asked Jolie, as the camera showed Vivienne in the crowd.
"And the same reason it responded to her and the same reason she wanted me next to her watching it and the same reason we all hugged when I came out here is because this is about family."
Vivienne accompanied Jolie on the red carpet during the premiere of The Outsiders in April.
Derived from S.E. Hinton's 1967 novel and Francis Ford Coppola's 1983 film adaptation, "The Outsiders" is a musical that draws from the 1960s musical of the same title.
It narrates the lives of teenagers Ponyboy Curtis, Johnny Cade, and their chosen family of 'outsiders' in a story about social class disparities.
