Deal or No Deal Island: Boston Rob eliminated, says would have ‘easily’ won

Rob Mariano, who goes by the nickname "Boston Rob," arrived at Deal or No Deal Island full of confidence, and that confidence has persisted despite his elimination.

During the final group challenge, Rob was penalised for looking at Amy McCoy's answer. Consequently, the 'Survivor' veteran had to wait three minutes after all the other participants had left the station before navigating the large maze to find one of the high-value cases.

Being held back was a major obstacle for him this time since two of the final four contestants would be eliminated. The eliminations would be determined by two factors: the slowest racer and the competitor with the lowest cash in their case among the remaining three.

Despite his determined effort to sprint as soon as he hit the sand, he ultimately crossed the finish line last, leading to his elimination and fourth-place finish.

Rob believes that without the poorly timed penalty, he would have ‘easily’ outperformed the competition and won the cash prize.

During an interview with TV Insider, Boston Rob discussed his close call in the finale.

Discussing the worth of his final case, Mariano mentioned, “Joe Manganiello and I have spoken since the show ended, and he told me he did open it and that I would have made it” , remarking that it “adds a little salt to the wound.”

When asked by the interviewer if he had not been paying attention when the rules were explained, Rob agreed, stating, “I was paying attention to everything that was going on in the challenge… trying to figure out what to do, and a lot of times when they go through these rules”

Detailing a situation where he could have reached the final, Rob explained “I would have won easily. Yeah, I’ve played hockey my entire life. I’m really good at balance, and I truly believe I would have been able to do that easily. So also tough to watch.”

In an unexpected finale, Jordan Fowler emerged as the winner, accepting a $1,230,000 offer.
