Ryan Reynolds' kids are "obsessed" with new movie "IF" trailer
Ryan Reynolds' children are so enthralled by the trailer for his new movie "IF" that it's become a morning ritual to watch it repeatedly. The actor shared this amusing anecdote to PEOPLE on the red carpet of the film's premiere, revealing that his kids, who hadn't yet seen the full movie, were "pretty obsessed" with the trailer and all the promotional clips on YouTube.
Reynolds and Blake Lively's four daughters, James (9), Inez (7½), Betty (4½), and their youngest, born in February 2023, have developed a particular fondness for Reynolds' co-star Cailey Fleming, who plays the lead role in the film. The actor even joked that Fleming would be his top choice for a babysitter among the cast.
"IF" is a family-friendly movie about a girl who can see imaginary friends and embarks on a mission to reunite them with their human counterparts. The film features an all-star cast, including Steve Carell, who voices a giant purple imaginary friend, Maya Rudolph, Bradley Cooper, Matt Damon, Awkwafina, Amy Schumer, and more.
On the "Today" show, Reynolds shared a humorous story about his daughter Betty's vivid imagination, revealing that she often sees imaginary friends. He joked that he's glad her imaginary friend is Harvey, a 6-foot-5 rabbit from the classic movie, rather than his own superhero character Deadpool.
"IF" hits theatres on May 17th, and it's safe to say that Reynolds' kids will be among the first in line to see it.
