Taylor Swift’s ‘Female Rage: The Musical’ to be a part of the Eras Tour

Taylor Swift resumed her Eras Tour in Paris on May 9, marking her first performance since releasing her latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," last month.

During the European leg of her tour, Swift surprised fans by adding new songs, dubbing this part of the show "Female Rage: The Musical."

While expressing gratitude for her fans on Instagram, Taylor wrote:

“This post is dedicated to the new Tortured Poets section of the Eras Tour (aka Female Rage The Musical!) and everyone who made these memories so magical. To my crew, fellow performers, and band who worked tirelessly in their break to concoct this surprise for you — but mostly for the fans in Paris.”

“I’m so thankful that it was you we got to show this to for the first time because you gave us so much excitement, passion, and love. I’m SO fired up to play this for every crowd on the tour. See you very soon, Stockholm!” Swift concluded.

The name "Female Rage: The Musical" playfully describes the new songs Swift introduced, which convey feelings of dismay and anger about a failed relationship.

She presented these songs in a highly theatrical manner, complete with new choreography, costumes, and complex graphics.

Photos shared by Swift show everything from a UFO to some tuxed-up background dancers getting involved. She has added seven new songs to the concert line-up, including “So High School” and “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.”

Fans have speculated on Reddit that these new additions could be a prelude to a musical adaptation.

The changes also mean that Swift's "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" concert film may be left incomplete, unless it receives an updated version. The addition of new songs led to the removal of some fan favorites, including "The Archer," "Long Live," and "The Last Great American Dynasty."

The first leg of the tour set a record, becoming the first to surpass $1 billion in revenue, with a gross of $1.04 billion reported by AP news in December 2023.
