JLo shuts down "This is Me... Now" tour cancellation rumors

Jennifer Lopez is gearing up for her upcoming "This is Me... Now" tour across North America, shutting down rumors of cancellation due to poor ticket sales. Sources close to the singer told the Mirror  that Lopez is "excited to see her fans at the shows," despite earlier reports suggesting Live Nation, the tour promoter, pushed for a full cancellation.

Those reports claimed Live Nation proposed canceling all 30 tour dates, but an insider revealed discussions included "multiple options" regarding the tour's future. Ultimately, "everyone involved (Live Nation, the talent and management)" agreed to proceed with the shows, the source confirmed

Ticketmaster listings show some seats available for venues in San Antonio and Dallas, Texas, but the insider assures that "some of the dates are selling incredibly well" This contradicts initial reports of a widespread sales slump.

The news comes after seven tour dates, originally scheduled between August 20th and 31st in Cleveland, Nashville, Raleigh, Atlanta, Tampa, New Orleans, and Houston, were canceled in March.

Standard ticket prices for the tour reportedly ranged from $49.95 to $144.75 s

The tour's theme reportedly revolves around Lopez's rekindled romance with husband Ben Affleck. JLo's manager, Benny Medina, is said to have encouraged her to "retell her love story" according to Variety. Medina reportedly connected Lopez with writers to help craft the narrative, and the couple even shared personal moments - with Lopez showing musicians letters Affleck penned titled "The Greatest Love Story Never Told"

This love story reportedly formed the basis for a documentary produced by Affleck's company, Artists Equity. The documentary is said to offer behind-the-scenes glimpses of Lopez independently producing her new album, an exploration of her "twenty-year journey to self-love".
