Zayn Malik reveals biggest regret from One Direction days
Zayn Malik has recently opened up about his time with One Direction and shared the one regret he has from those days.
In a recent interview on the Zach Sang Show, the "Pillowtalk" singer shared, "The main thing that I always feel bad about when I look back over my life is not enjoying the band enough. I feel like I just took things too seriously, you know?"
He explained that his teenage angst prevented him from appreciating the moment and that he "didn't understand the importance of just trying to be happy."
Looking back, Malik realized, "You should be a nice person. You should be somebody that people want to be around and enjoy being in your presence."
Malik credits his daughter, Khai, whom he shares with ex-partner Gigi Hadid, for bringing color back into his life.
He reflected, "She just makes me happier — I have so much love in me that I didn’t have before she was born."
Since leaving One Direction, Malik has been candid about why he parted ways with the band, acknowledging the strain that had developed among him, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne.
He admitted that he "completely selfishly" wanted to make his own record.
