Harry and Meghan have started their three-day trip to Nigeria after the pair had a secret rendezvous at London's Heathrow Airport.

According to The Daily Mail, The Duchess of Sussex touched down at Heathrow Airport where she was seen waiting for her husband in the VIP Windsor Suite.

The unexpected meeting occurred after Prince Harry’s solo homecoming to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.

Since Tuesday, the Duke had been in London on his own during which he was not allowed to meet Kate Middleton and was stripped of his role as Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps by King Charles.

Meghan was not expected to travel to the UK or meet up with Harry.

But after their reunion, the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex boarded a British Airways overnight flight to Abuja, which faced a slight delay when the designated pilot fell ill, prompting the need for a hastily arranged replacement.

Making their inaugural visit to Nigeria as a couple, they occupied seats in the first-class compartment of the Boeing 777 and were segregated from other passengers by a partition.

Upon their arrival in Nigeria shortly before 5 am today, fellow travelers were asked to wait while the couple was escorted off the plane. As they departed, they exchanged smiles with the cabin crew.

Nigerian officials greeted them at Abuja Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, and they were led through a side exit to the jetty and then into a blacked-out minibus that was waiting for them.

Meghan donned black trousers paired with a brown jacket, while Harry followed closely behind in a black jacket, trousers, and an unbuttoned shirt.

Their luggage was carried by aides, and they were accompanied by the same security team that had been with Harry during his recent visit to London.

The main purpose of the visit is to support and raise awareness for the Invictus Games. This follows Harry's encounter with the Nigerian team and General Musa during last year's competition in Dusseldorf, Germany.
