Meghan Markle decided against attending Met Gala despite being “hugely tempted”

Royal author claims Meghan Markle opted out of attending the Met Gala for a single reason.

Reports suggest that Meghan Markle was greatly enticed by an invitation to the Met Gala, presenting an opportunity to grace the red carpet alongside celebrities and influential figures.

However, the Duchess of Sussex is believed to have declined the invitation due to a scheduling conflict with her son Prince Archie's birthday.

Despite this, a royal expert has disclosed that attending the event might have been a decision she pondered deeply, considering its potential as a platform to support the launch of her brand, American Riviera Orchard.

Royal expert and author Tom Quinn told The Mirror: "Meghan was hugely tempted to go to the Met Gala. She loves this kind of big, glitzy event, especially as it's held to raise money for charity, and with the launch of her new online brand, she needs all the publicity she can get.

"She may no longer be a working actor, but she's addicted to mixing with celebrities that's why she lives in Montecito next door to Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom and a host of other A-listers. The glamour associated with being a celebrity in the States has always been something Meghan can't do without and an event such as the Met Gala is almost too tempting to resist."

It's believed that Meghan opted out of attending the Met Gala, choosing instead to celebrate her son Archie's birthday.

Prince Archie, who celebrated his fifth birthday on May 6, is believed to have marked the occasion at home in a small, intimate gathering with Prince Harry, Meghan, and sister Princess Lilibet.

Archie, residing in the US since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down as senior royals, has been characterised by author Tom Quinn as "a real live-wire who loves rushing around at top speed."

Quinn elaborated that Meghan prefers organizing birthdays for her children but desires them to be "very private affairs" so that Archie and Lilibet can encounter "the more ordinary things in life."
