Legal drama ensues as rapper 50 Cent, born Curtis Jackson, takes legal action against his ex-girlfriend, Daphne Joy.

The lawsuit filed by 50 Cent alleges that Joy falsely accused the rapper of raping and physically abusing her, according to details reported by Page Six.

It further alleged that Joy made these accusations in retaliation to his pursuit of sole custody of their 11-year-old son, Sire.
The lawsuit asserts that Joy's Instagram post garnered over 22,000 likes, damaging 50 Cent's reputation, business interests, and the ongoing custody battle.

In response, 50 Cent's legal team sent a letter to Joy on April 2, demanding the removal of the post and a retraction of her statement.

‘However, Joy refused, and her attorneys allegedly requested millions of dollars and for 50 Cent to drop the custody battle in exchange for removing the post.
50 Cent denounces these demands as "clearly extortive."

Seeking more than $1 million in damages, 50 Cent aims to secure a court order for Joy to remove the post and refrain from making further defamatory statements.

In a statement to Page Six, 50 Cent's counsel, Reena Jain, condemned Joy's accusations as false and malicious. Jain suggested that Joy's actions may be influenced by her association with Sean "Diddy" Combs, whom 50 Cent has reportedly warned against for years.

The legal battle intensified on March 28 when Joy publicly accused 50 Cent of rape and physical abuse.

She also criticised his parenting, alleging that he had seen their son only ten times in two years. 50 Cent's representative dismissed these accusations as false and reiterated the rapper's commitment to ensuring his son's safety.

Joy was previously implicated in a sexual assault lawsuit involving Combs, wherein she denied allegations of being a sex worker for the music mogul. The lawsuit, filed by producer Rodney "Lil Rod" Jones, alleged that Combs paid women for their services.

The ongoing legal saga between 50 Cent and Joy underscores the complexities of personal and legal disputes, with both parties striving to protect their reputations and interests in the public eye.
