Kim's Kardashian’s Met Gala waist cinch: love it or hate it?
Kim Kardashian has once again found herself at the center of controversy following her appearance at the 2024 Met Gala.
The 43-year-old reality star turned heads in a daring John Galliano for Maison Margiela gown that featured a painfully tight corset, cinching her waist.
While some fans marveled at her shockingly small waist, others were quick to criticize Kardashian for perpetuating unrealistic beauty standards.
Adding another layer of controversy was Kardashian's decision to pair the elaborate gown with a casual gray cardigan. She explained to Vogue that it represented, "the wildest night of her life in a garden,"
Many took to social media to express their disapproval, labeling the sweater as "disgusting and old," and likening it to a T.J. Maxx purchase. Speculation ranged from a cover-up for a wardrobe malfunction to a simple fashion faux pas.

This isn't the first time Kardashian has faced backlash for her waist-cinching fashion choices. In 2019, she caused a stir with an impossibly tight Thierry Mugler dress at the Met Gala, and in 2022, she admitted to extreme measures, including corset breathing lessons and a strict diet, to fit into Marilyn Monroe's Jean Louis dress.
Critics have accused Kardashian of promoting unhealthy body ideals and damaging fashion artifacts in her quest for the perfect red carpet look.
