Met Gala targeted by Palestine supporters amid Israel's war on Gaza

Dozens of pro-Palestine protesters marched near the Met Gala event through New York's Upper East Side, chanting slogans and expressing their desire to bring attention to the ongoing situation in Gaza.

At present, the Israeli military continues to bomb Rafah despite Hamas accepting a ceasefire proposal for Gaza. Over 35,000 Palestinians and 1400 Israelis have been killed since October 7, 2023.

Users on X are condemning the event, stating it ‘distracts’ from Israel’s “genocide” in Gaza.

Other users have compared the occurrence of the Met Gala amidst the “genocide” to the dystopian series, “The Hunger Games.”
