Usher has expressed his disappointment after the “Lovers & Friends” festival in Las Vegas was abruptly canceled due to extreme weather conditions.

The singer, whose 2004 hit “Lovers & Friends” with Ludacris and Lil Jon inspired the festival's name, wrote on X, “I'm just as disappointed as you are... We were getting ready to turn up and celebrate today.”

He continued, expressing his belief that “everything happens for a reason” and vowing to continue working on ways to show gratitude to his fans.

The festival organisers also released a statement, explaining that they had been “monitoring the weather for several days” and made the difficult decision to cancel after the National Weather Service issued a “High Wind Warning” with potential gusts exceeding 60 mph.

Stars like Janet Jackson, Alicia Keys, and Lil Wayne were among those scheduled to perform.

Keys also shared her disappointment on her Instagram Story, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing safety.

“Guys we’re so bummed out because we just heard that the Lovers & Friends Festival is canceled today,” Keys said in a video. “We were like, ‘What? What do you mean?’ But obviously, with the wind the way that it is, I mean, it could get dangerous and we can’t put anybody at risk for being hurt. But yo, when I tell you how excited I was to see my friends, to catch these shows, there were so many fresh people, the set that I was about to do, by the way.”
