Saturday Night Live's "Weekend Update" segment parodied singer JoJo Siwa's recent image change and her comments about creating a new music genre called "gay pop."

JoJo Siwa, the former child star known for her vibrant personality and colorful outfits, recently underwent a significant image change.

She debuted a darker, edgier look with a black sparkly ensemble, dramatic makeup, and a new song titled "Karma."

This shift away from her previous persona sparked discussions and mild controversy.

On their "Weekend Update" segment, Saturday Night Live parodied Siwa's new look and her comments about creating a new music genre called "gay pop."

Cast member Chloe Fineman impersonated Siwa, replicating her attire, dance moves, and mannerisms from the "Karma" music video.

The skit humorously exaggerated Siwa's "bad girl" persona and her claim of inventing a new genre, poking fun at both the dramatic change and the potential redundancy of the term "gay pop."

Despite the comedic jabs, Siwa surprisingly embraced the skit.

She shared the clip on her Instagram story, calling it "iconic" and acknowledging the significant length of the segment (over three minutes).

This suggests she took the parody in stride and potentially even appreciated the exposure and recognition from a renowned comedy show like SNL.
