IHC accepts plea for Elahi's transfer to residence, hospital
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) approved on Monday a plea seeking the transfer of PTI President Pervez Elahi to either his residence or a hospital due to his deteriorating health.
The plea was filed by Elahi's wife, Qaisara Elahi, and was heard by Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir.
The court ordered the Ministry of Interior to complete the procedure related to shifting Elahi within 15 days and ensure the provision of adequate medical facilities if his residence is to be converted into a sub-jail.
Following the court order, Elahi's residence will be declared as sub-jail similar to former first lady Bushra Bibi’s incarceration in Bani Gala sub-jail.

Earlier, the IHC ordered the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) medical board to visit Adiala jail and re-examine the former Punjab chief minister after he had a nasty fall in the prison’s washroom on March 17 and broke four ribs.
Elahi reportedly suffered an injury to his forehead during the fall, with visible marks noted on the left side of his head. Furthermore, there were injuries near his left eye and on his left arm, while swelling was observed on the right side of his chest. Additionally, Elahi’s left knee was also found to be injured.
The court also sought a report about the facilities provided to Elahi in the jail.
Qaisara, following her husband's fall, moved IHC seeking Elahi's transfer to a medical facility, but Adiala jail authorities informed the court that he had been shifted and the petition was then disposed of subsequently.
The judge was informed that the PTI leader was shifted again to PIMS after his health condition worsened.
