Football: Ramsey keen to play for Britain
Declared his interest in playing for a British football team at next year’s London Olympics.
LONDON:
Wales captain Aaron Ramsey has declared his interest in playing for a British football team at next year’s London Olympics even though his national association opposes the idea. The British Olympic Association has said Britain would field a united football team at next year’s Games for the first time since 1960. However, the Football Association of Wales is opposed to its players joining any ‘Team GB’. “If there’s a chance of playing in the Olympics and having the opportunity to win a medal, it would be a great one to achieve in your career,” said Ramsey.
