Jerry Seinfeld makes cameo on latest SNL episode
Comedian Jerry Seonfeld made a cameo on the latest episode of Saturday Night Live.
Looking slightly disheveled, Seinfeld humorously addressed his recent overload of press engagements, jokingly offering advice to fellow actor Ryan Gosling on navigating the demands of media promotion.
His appearance added an unexpected twist to the episode.
As the episode drew to a close, Seinfeld stood alongside the SNL cast, expressing gratitude to the audience, cast, and crew.
However, his appearance on the show hasn't escaped controversy. Public scrutiny has heightened recently, particularly due to his wife Jessica's outspoken advocacy and political engagement.
This week, the couple's presence at the premiere of "Unfrosted" garnered attention, especially with Jessica's promotion of a counterprotest at UCLA where attacks on pro-Palestinian demonstrators were reported.
The latest episode of Saturday Night Live also had a satirical take on the complexities of parental reactions to college protests across the US, particularly those related to the Israeli assault on Gaza.
The skit featured a parody of a New York City talk show where parents discussed their anxieties about their children participating in the demonstrations, hosted by Michael Longfellow and featured Mikey Day, Heidi Gardner, and Kenan Thompson.
Kenan Thompson stole the show as Alphonso Roberts, a frustrated father fuming over his daughter's activism at Columbia University.
His comedic outrage centered around the high cost of tuition – a whopping $68,000 a year – and his belief that his daughter, Alexis Vanessa, should be focused on her studies, not protests.
The sketch also highlighted the disruption caused by the protests, with some universities even canceling graduations.
Israel’s onslaught on besieged Gaza has killed more than 34,000 Palestinians and wounded at least 78,018 since the Oct 7 Hamas attack that killed around 1,200 Israelis.
