RAWALPINDI:

A father has been accused of allegedly killing his daughter and a neighbour in the name of honour in Murree.

The horrific event occurred in the Bari Samli area, where the accused is said to have first killed his daughter and then shot and killed the young boy.

The bodies of the two victims were shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem examination.

According to police sources, the accused is still at large, and a search operation has been launched to apprehend him. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) (Operations) Hafiz Kamran Ashgar has stated that initial indications suggest an honour killing, but the actual motives will be confirmed after the accused is arrested and interrogated.

Special teams have been formed to track down the absconding suspect, and evidence from the crime scene has been collected. Statements from eyewitnesses are also being recorded to build a strong case against the accused. A spokesperson for the police said they are working diligently to ensure justice for the victims and their families.

In a separate incident, a wedding guest, Rizwan, lost his life due to celebratory aerial firing by friends of the groom in the Ferozal area of Mandra police station. The police have arrested four suspects, including the groom, Aziz, and his friends, Shoaib, Ghazanfar, and Owais, from the scene.

In another tragic event, the body of a 12-day-old girl was discovered in the Shah Jeevan Colony area of Dhamiyal police station. Although the police responded promptly to the incident, the family members refused to pursue legal action, considering it a natural death, and buried the girl's body. According to police reports, the mother of the deceased had passed away just a few days prior, and other family members are believed to be struggling with drug addiction.
