ENTERTAINMENT DESK:

Atlanta police have arrested Mariah The Scientist, real name Mariah Buckles over  accusations of a violent altercation at a local venue.

The singer was charged, arrested and then released on Wednesday evening.

According to a police report from Fulton County, obtained by TMZ Hip Hop, the incident occurred at the Cavo Kitchen and Cocktail lounge.

The complainant, Cleopatra Dues, reported on March 29, claiming that she was assaulted by Mariah the previous night.

Dues alleged that Mariah forcefully grabbed her, removed her wig, and dragged her across a table and floor, which resulted in injuries to her legs and feet.

The incident was initially misreported on social media, mistakenly identifying Staten Island rapper Cleotrapa as the victim.

However, it was confirmed that the victim was indeed Dues, who admitted to not wearing her glasses at the time and not seeing her attacker clearly. She later identified Mariah The Scientist as the assailant. Dues also mentioned to the police that she had no prior interactions with Mariah or her entourage and is unclear about the motive behind the attack.

Mariah The Scientist was charged with simple battery and was released on bond later that day.
