Britney Spears responds to hotel incident: “I was set up”
Britney is alleging that her mother, Lynne Spears, played a role in the incident.
Britney Spears revealed a bruised and swollen foot following an incident at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, California, hinting at a dispute with her boyfriend and suggesting her mom, Lynne Spears, was involved.
“I really twisted my ankle last night like an idiot — just to show proof,” the "Circus" singer shared in a video showing her injured foot.
“It’s so bad. F–king idiot here tries to do a leap in the living room of the Chateau and I fell — embarrassed myself — and that’s it.”
The Grammy winning singer continued, “Paramedics came to my door immediately. Of course, caused this huge scene, which was so unnecessary and all I needed was ice.
“It is actually pretty bad but s–t happens.”
In a tearful moment in another clip, Britney compared her swollen foot with the uninjured one.
She then highlighted that her mother called her immediately after the incident: “I haven’t talked to her in 6 months and she called right after it happened before the news being out.”
“I was set up just like she did way back when !!! I wish I had grandparents !!! I can’t stand her !!! I honestly don’t care I will say it !!!”
However, it's unclear if she blamed her mom for calling paramedics or leaking the news.
Britney also thanked her lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, for supporting her through the incident, describing him as a father figure.
“Psss this man is wonderful !!! He’s like a father to me and he got me through last night !!! I adore you and admire you mister Mathew !!!” she captioned a photo of Rosengart.
“Britney had a rough night and big fight but she is incredibly resilient, despite the trauma she endured during the conservatorship,” a source told Page Six.
Page Six reported that paramedics were called to Britney's hotel room following a call about an injured woman, and she was later seen with her boyfriend and paramedics outside the Chateau.
While Britney claimed the injury was from a leap, sources suggest it followed a fight with her boyfriend.
Britney denied the headlines, calling them fake news and stating that paramedics showed up at her door illegally. She emphasized feeling harassed but clarified they did not enter her room.
Just a week prior to the hotel incident, Britney Spears and her father, Jamie Spears, were embroiled in a legal dispute over legal fees and his management of her finances during his time as her conservator.
Britney was required to cover her father's legal expenses, which are said to exceed $2 million.
