Gunna has released his latest single "Whatsapp (Wassam)," setting the stage for his upcoming fourth studio album, "One of Wun."
The Turbo-produced track features Gunna rapping about his success and seemingly referencing the controversy surrounding his legal case.
Rapping with his signature flair, he throws down lines that nod to his resilience and the public's scrutiny: "Young Wunna the one, word to Complex," "Get money and travel, a compass/I told you a n***a ain’t done yet/I heard the blogs comparing my numbers, I guess they think it's a contest."
Fans can stream "Whatsapp (Wassam)" now on platforms like Apple Music and Spotify, and the track will feature on "One of Wun," slated for release on May 10th, with pre-orders available.
The upcoming album follows Gunna's 2023 release, "A Gift & a Curse," which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. Despite its success, it didn't match the chart-topping achievements of his earlier albums, "Wunna" (2020) and "DS4Ever" (2022).
However, Gunna seems confident that "One of Wun" will return him to the top of the charts. In a recent interview with TMZ, he declared, "The album One of Wun—it's number one."
This upcoming project marks Gunna's second full-length release since his involvement in the YSL RICO case alongside rapper Young Thug. Gunna pleaded guilty to one count of racketeering conspiracy in December 2022 and was released after serving time. The plea deal sparked controversy with many accusing Gunna of snitching on his co-defendants.
In a recent interview with XXL magazine, Gunna addressed the allegations, stating that people have been "misled."
Gunna is now gearing up for his Bittersweet North American Tour with special guest Flo Milli, kicking off on May 4th in Columbus, Ohio.
