Is Taylor Swift attending Met Gala 2024?

The pop icon and her NFL superstar boyfriend Travis Kelce reportedly received separate invitations to the Met Gala.

With this year’s Met Gala coming up, many Swifties are wondering if Taylor Swift will attend this year’s event, especially with the pop icon flying high with the chart topping success of her latest album release.

Despite earlier reports indicating she would attend, the singer has reportedly decided to skip fashion's biggest night.

Instead, Taylor Swift is likely to focus on rehearsals and tour preparations for her Eras Tour, which resumes on May 9 in Paris and continues across Europe in the spring and summer.

The Met Gala, typically held on the first Monday in May, falls on May 6 this year, making it a tight schedule ahead of the tour for the 34-year-old singer.

TMZ previously reported that Swift and her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, would not be attending the Met Gala this year.

Sources revealed to the publication that both the Grammy winner and NFL superstar received separate invitations to the Met Gala. However, they have both declined the invitations to the star-studded event.

Taylor has attended the event six times, with her most recent appearance in 2016, while Kelce has yet to make his debut.

Swift's latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, has been a massive success, with the album racking up 1 billion Spotify streams in a week.

This year, the Met Gala's theme is "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion," showcasing around 250 items from the Costume Institute's collection.

There are about 400 invitees, as confirmed by a spokeswoman for the Institute.
